2014 GED® Test: An Inside Look at the Mathematical Reasoning Test

The new GED test of mathematics will differ from the current GED math test in significant ways. It focuses on two major content areas: quantitative problem solving and algebraic problem solving, striking a balance between of deeper conceptual understanding, procedural skills and fluency, and the ability to apply these fundamentals in realistic situations.

We will examine in this webinar the changes to the GED math test and discuss best practices for GED preparatory instruction. Topics addressed include but are not limited to an explanation of the assessment targets, a discussion of the individual math skills candidates must master to be successful, a look at the range of complexity and the types of items employed on the test, and overview of the new formula page, and a first look at the online Texas Instrument calculator embedded in the test.
