Wonderlic Personnel Test—Quicktest (WPT-Q)

Description

The WPT-Q is a short-form measure of general intelligence or cognitive ability—the most powerful predictor of job success. Designed to streamline your Internet recruiting program, the WPT-Q can be administered from any location with Internet access. The WPT-Q is used in pre-employment testing to estimate a candidate’s aptitude, or ability to perform a specific job.

Content

The WPT-Q is a shorter version of the Wonderlic Personnel Test (WPT) that is designed to be used as a pre-test for the WPT. The WPT is a cognitive ability test that has been used for aptitude testing and hiring employees since 1937.

The close relationship between the WPT-Q and the WPT allows you to rely on established WPT normative score ranges for Internet screening. The WPT-Q can be used to screen candidates who are unlikely to have the cognitive ability necessary to succeed in a particular job.

When hiring employees, measures such as grade point average, level of education, or special skills are not adequate predictors of job success. Different schools have different standards. An aptitude test like the WPT or WPT-Q helps predict an individual’s capacity for learning and applying knowledge on the job.

The WPT-Q is ideal for Internet recruiting and off-site pre‑employment testing. It can be administered remotely via the Internet 7 days a week. It takes only 8 minutes of a candidate’s time and score reports are delivered to you via our Wonderlic Online platform or by email.

Purpose

When hiring employees, WPT-Q scores help you preliminarily match job candidates to jobs in which they could be effective while eliminating staff time spent with clearly unqualified job candidates. Because WPT-Q Internet administrations are unsupervised, scores are reported in narrative form ( “Pursue,” “Cautionary,” or “Not Recommended.”).
