Admissions Testing
Wonderlic student assessments are brief, yet powerfully accurate in predicting training success. Wonderlic educational testing services can be used for a variety of purposes, including: place students in appropriate programs, identify students that need additional help, qualify students for Title IV federal funding, reduce turnover in adult education programs, fulfill requirements for college accreditation, and to fulfill requirements for "No Child Left Behind."
Title IV "Ability-to-Benefit" (ATB) Testing
The Wonderlic ATB Program has been approved by the U.S. Department of Education for use in qualifying non-high school graduates for Federal Title IV "Ability-to-Benefit" Funding. The program is comprehensive and covers everything from using an approved test, registering and reviewing Independent Test Administrators (ITA), official scoring of the tests by Wonderlic and statistical reporting.
The U.S. Department of Education approves tests and passing scores for the ATB program. Two Wonderlic tests are approved for use in the ATB program. For programs taught in English, the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (WBST) is used. For programs taught in Spanish, the Scholastic Level Exam (SLE) in Spanish is used. A summary of the steps in the ATB program are as follows:
- ITAs sponsored by your school must complete Wonderlic's registration and certification process. Certified ITAs are trained in the approved procedures for conducting the testing session and audited annually for compliance. For more information about becoming an ITA call 888.529.3892.
- Tests are administered and sent to Wonderlic by the ITA only. All tests must be sent to the Wonderlic Testing Services Department for official ATB scoring.
- Wonderlic provides official test score reports to the student and the school. Only test scores appearing on the WBST and SLE Individual ATB Score Report provided by the Wonderlic Testing Services Department may be used for ATB determination.
- Wonderlic audits the testing program on a regular basis.
Wonderlic ATB scores can be used to evaluate students' readiness to work at the level required to successfully complete their programs of study.
