CHARLES F. WONDERLIC, JR.

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Wonderlic, grandson of founder and test author E.F. “Al” Wonderlic, is the third generation of the Wonderlic family to lead the 73-year-old company. During his 24-year tenure, the company’s assessment capabilities and market share have grown appreciably. He is currently responsible for providing direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organization's mission, strategy and annual goals.

Mr. Wonderlic served as the Chairman of the Board and President of the Association of Test Publishers in 2006, and his views regarding the purpose and value of assessment have been aired on national television programs including Dateline, Lifetime, CNN FN and 20/20 as well as in hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles.

Mr. Wonderlic received his B.S. in Finance from Miami University, Ohio, and his M.B.A. from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, Lake Forest, Illinois.

 

David Hammond

President

Mr. David Hammond is responsible for strategy and operations at Wonderlic. He is an experienced sales and marketing executive with a consistent track record of delivering profitable high-volume business results. His experience in both the staffing and publishing industries has cultivated a deep understanding of recruitment process design and implementation.

Throughout his career, David has helped organizations implement and develop strategies that give them the competitive advantage. Prior to joining Wonderlic, he helped turn around a $200 million subsidiary of Reader’s Digest as part of the executive management team, and was a co-founder of PeopleBonus, a recruitment services firm focused on technology solutions.

David earned a B.A. in Communications from Bradley University and M.B.A. in Marketing from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University.

 

Dr. david Arnold

General Counsel

Dr. David Arnold is involved with legal issues concerning privacy, negligent hiring, employment testing and equal employment matters. He also serves as General Counsel for the Association of Test Publishers. In this capacity, David has testified before various legislative committees on issues related to testing.

David’s prior background includes HR-related positions with Supermarkets General Corporation, the University of Nebraska, the City of Omaha, United Airlines, Reid London House and NCS Pearson.

He is an active member of the American Bar Association’s Section of Labor and Employment Law and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). He has also served as Chairperson of the American Psychological Association’s Committee on Legal Issues and currently serves on the State Affairs Committee of SIOP. David has written over 100 articles regarding testing and employment law/legislation and spoken frequently to various HR and other trade groups regarding these topics. In 2009, he was the recipient of the “Award for Professional Contributions and Service to Testing,” presented by the Association of Test Publishers.

David holds a J.D. from Loyola University Law School and a Ph.D. in Industrial Psychology from the University of Nebraska.

 

KEN SILBER

Vice President and General Manager of Wonderlic Education Solutions

Mr. Ken Silber has been with Wonderlic for 15 years. His expertise and sales and service background has guided over 2,000 clients including the NFL, ITT, Kaplan Higher Education and Corinthian Colleges toward notable strides in reducing employee turnover, improving stakeholder satisfaction and increasing student success and retention rates.

Since taking over Wonderlic Education Solutions in 2008, Ken has helped solidify Wonderlic’s position as an industry leader. Ken is an advocate for best practices in student assessment and admissions and continues to drive the development of new tools and technologies to best meet the needs of students, educators and administrators at the local, state and national level.

Prior to joining Wonderlic, he was a top-producing Loan Officer for a large Midwest Bank and recognized nationally for loan volume and production.

Ken earned his Master’s degree in Business and the Hotchkiss Scholar award in recognition for outstanding academic achievement from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

 

michael callans

Vice President, Research and Development

The Wonderlic Research and Development Group is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and enhancements of core assessments and consulting services. The group consists of experts with advanced degrees (Ph.D., Masters) in disciplines aligned with human capital. Today we employ professionals with degrees in industrial-organizational psychology, human and career development, and educational psychology.

Michael has experience working in the inpatient and outpatient psychiatric units of two major Chicago hospitals and has also run an Employee Assistance Program. Since coming to Wonderlic 16 years ago, Michael has worked extensively in the area of personality measurement and has developed a method of measuring personality traits in terms of the job requirements determined by the U.S. Department of Labor in the O*Net job descriptions.

Mr. Callans received his Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University, Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in Ohio.

 

Winifred L. Clonts

Principal 

Ms. Winifred Clonts joined Wonderlic, Inc. in 1988 and has managed corporate divisions including Research and Development, Marketing, Educational Services and Wonderlic’s interactive voice response (IVR) telephone systems. From 1999 to 2001, she served as COO of HiringNetwork, Inc., a former subsidiary of Wonderlic which provided Internet, IVR and television employee recruitment products to television and radio broadcast partners.

She co-authored the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (WBST), and was originally responsible for the development of WebApp, Wonderlic’s original Internet pre-employment screening service. More recently, she was an author and developer on the Wonderlic Contemporary Cognitive Ability Test and the General Assessment of Individual Needs.

Currently, she works in the development of assessment content for Wonderlic Online, Wonderlic’s web-based testing, scoring and reporting platform. Projects include foreign language translations of Wonderlic assessments, the creation of additional GAIN products, custom assessment development and the completion of research required by the USDOE to support the use of the WBST in qualifying postsecondary students for Federal financial aid.

Winifred holds a M.M. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, as well as both B. Mus. and M. Mus. from Northwestern University’s School of Music.
